Hi everyone, I'm heading to Europe this summer and I just got the Ticovac vaccine. I was surprised to find out it was for a tick-borne infection called TBE. Has anyone else gotten this vaccine? I didn't really know what to expect. The nurse said it would help protect me from a serious brain infection spread by tick bites. Does anyone know if this is common in certain parts of Europe? I got the shot in my arm and it didn't hurt too bad, no more than a regular flu shot. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced side effects or if this should be a must if you are travelling to these parts of the world. It seems pretty serious if you get infected, so I'm glad I got vaccinated, but I've never heard of this before.

Not sure I believe in all these vaccines. I went to Europe and never got bitten by a tick. I think it's just a way for pharmaceutical companies to make more money.

I got this vaccine last year before traveling to Austria. I did experience some pain at the injection site and a mild headache for a couple of days, but nothing major. I'm glad I got it, though. Tick-Borne Encephalitis can be really serious, and it's better to be safe than sorry. I think it's a must for travel in Europe

Hmmm, I did hear about it but I didn't get it this time. I think I may get it next time, but then I never got it before so ... don't know.

I've been to Europe several times and never got vaccinated, not sure I'm infected with ticks/ this virus. I'm going back this year, so maybe I should look into it more, just don't know if I'm at risk.
