Tigecycline 50mg Inj, 1 Vial is an intravenous antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections of the skin, abdomen, and lungs when other antibiotics are not effective or suitable. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. While it can be a lifesaver in critical situations, it comes with a significant risk of serious side effects. I was prescribed Tigecycline recently and have been experiencing some stomach issues. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences and what they did to manage the side effects. I've read that it can cause diarrhea, stomach pain, and even more severe issues like liver problems and acidosis. It's scary to think about, so I'm hoping to hear from others who have gone through this. Also, it's important to note that if you experience any of the urgent side effects, you should seek medical help immediately. It's crucial to be aware of the risks and to monitor symptoms closely.

If you're on this, keep an eye out for any signs of acidosis. The symptoms are all over the place, but they can be really serious. Fast breathing, confusion, severe stomach pain... it's a lot to watch out for.

I had to switch to something else when I reacted badly to Tigecycline last time. I hope it's better this time

That's a tough one. I know someone who had to switch to a different antibiotic due to severe diarrhea. They ended up with C. diff, which was a nightmare. Be careful and keep in close contact with your doctor.

I'm lucky enough to never have needed it. But I always wondered why this drug would be considered if others were not effective. What does that mean? They are not strong enough?

My experience with Tigecycline was pretty rough. I had severe headaches and vision problems. I was terrified but it turned out to be an increase in pressure in the brain. Scary stuff!

This stuff is no joke. I've seen people react very badly to it, even with severe allergic reactions. If you start feeling crazy, like swollen tongue or throat, get to the ER.

I've heard that it can cause a lot of liver problems. I guess that's why it's called a 'last resort' antibiotic. It's powerful, but it's not without its risks.

I once had a patient who got pancreatitis on this drug. Very scary.
