I was prescribed Tirosint-SOL 13mcg/ml Oral Sol for my hypothyroidism and it's been a game-changer. I've been struggling with fatigue and weight gain for years, and this liquid medication has helped me feel more energetic and stable. However, I've been experiencing some hair loss, which I've heard is a common side effect. Has anyone else dealt with this? Also, any tips on how to manage it? I've also read some scary stuff about potential side effects. How do you all handle the fear of those severe reactions? I'm curious to hear about everyone's experiences with this medication, the good and the bad. Let's share what has worked and what hasn't!

I feel you on the hair loss. I have a friend who started Tirosint and had to go to a dermatologist for hers. She said sometimes it's not the meds but your body fighting the meds.

I started Tirosint after horror stories from a friend about struggling with pills. This liquid is so much easier to take. I use syringes to measure my dose and I swear it's helping my thyroid levels stay more stable. I can’t say it’s a fair comparison without trying the other, but it's been a big improvement for me.

That’s great the meds are helping! But if you have any nervousness or anxiety about side effects, it might be worth talking to a therapist or counselor. It’s good to have support, especially since hypothyroidism can affect your mood and anxiety levels.

I was really worried about the allergic reactions and other severe side effects when I started. In case anyone else is freaking out about this, remember that these are rare. Make sure you talk to your doctor about any concerns, though—it’s always good to be prepared.

Side effects from thyroid meds can be tough, but I think it's important to remember that everyone's body reacts differently. I never had hair loss, but I did have some pretty bad mood swings at first. My doctor adjusted my dosage and it got better.

Switch to a gluten free and dairy free diet plus add daily supplements with Magnesium, Selenium and Iodine. Add thyroid meditations with Thyroid Yoga or any other good yoga routine for the thyroid.

This is great advice! I’ve found that tracking your symptoms and side effects in a journal can really help. Not only does it give you concrete data to discuss with your doctor, but it can also make you feel more in control.

I've been on Tirosint-SOL for about 6 months now and the hair loss has been a struggle. I've tried using biotin supplements and switching to a gentler shampoo, and it seems to be helping a bit. Also, make sure to inform your doctor about any side effects you experience so they can adjust your dosage if needed. Hang in there!

I wish the FDA made it clearer what side effects are most likely and what's super rare. It's a total drag to read all that scary stuff and then not know if you're going to be okay.

I’ve heard mixed things about Tirosint. Some people swear by it, others say it’s not that different from other thyroid meds. Have any of you compared it to other treatments?
