Hello fellow travelers! I'm planning a trip to Paris with my wife soon, and I want to make the most of our visit to this beautiful city. We're both history buffs and foodies, so we're excited to explore the museums, try local cuisine, and maybe even learn a few phrases in French. I know there are countless things to see and do, but I'd love to hear from those who have been there or locals about their top do's and don'ts for an unforgettable experience in Paris. For example, are there any hidden gems or off-the-beaten-path spots that we shouldn't miss? And what about places to avoid? I want to make the most of our time in the city, and appreciate everyone's help and advice today. Merci!

The Musée de l'Orangerie is a hidden gem. It's a bit off the beaten path, but it's worth the trip. The Monet Water Lilies are stunning, and the museum has a lovely garden too, you can sit there for a while and enjoy a snack..

Definitely take a evening stroll along the Seine River and maybe even visit the Musée d'Orsay. I love that place. I believe it used to be a railway station and they may have just kept the original design. There are also tons of street vendors along the Seine at night. They make some really good food, crepes, and drinks, just dont buy the knock offs.

be careful with the pickpockets. Especially around the eiffel tower. We had our backpack stolen right off our chairs at a cafe.

Don't miss out on the Montmartre neighborhood! It's a bit touristy, but for good reason. The Sacré-Cœur Basilica is stunning, and the views of the city are breathtaking. Plus, there are plenty of charming cafés and art galleries to explore. The Musée de Montmartre has a lovely Renoir room, and don't forget to visit the famous Place du Tertre, where artists create portraits and paintings for tourists. It's a great place to wander and soak in the local culture.

Do visit the catacombs, but you must be mindful of your electronics. It might seem silly but they wont let you make photos and videos, and its very likely they will confiscate your phone if you do. Also have a jacket or sweater, it is very chilly there.
