I was prescribed Tylenol W/codeine Elixir for a nagging cough and mild pain. The combination of acetaminophen and codeine has been a game-changer, but I've been reading about the side effects and it's got me a bit worried. Has anyone else experienced any of the urgent side effects like severe dizziness or breathing difficulties? I want to be prepared but also not overreact. Are these serious side effects really that rare, or am I just lucking out here so far?

Be careful, man. I know someone who ended up in the hospital because of breathing issues. It's not worth risking your life for a cough.

Just make sure to keep the bottle away from kids and pets. Accidental ingestion can be dangerous.

I never thought I'd be the one giving this advice, but seriously, don't mix it with alcohol. Bad news.

I had a mild allergic reaction to it—just a bit of itching and a rash. It went away after I stopped taking it. Drink plenty of water when you take it, it helps with the side effects.

I always make sure to report any side effects to my doctor. It's better to be safe than sorry, especially with opioid-based meds.

I've been on Tylenol W/codeine for a while now and haven't had any severe side effects. Just a bit of dizziness and constipation, but nothing too bad.

I've had trouble with constipation. Tylenol W/codeine makes me feel like a human log. Anyone else have this problem?

Severe skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome are life-threatening. If you see any signs, seek medical help immediately.

My mom had a bad reaction to it years ago. She got really confused and had mood swings. It was scary.
