This medication literally saved my life after a nasty infection post-surgery. But man, the side effects were brutal. I had to stop for a while because of kidney issues, but my doc worked with me to get back on it safely.

I’ve seen it work miracles. Watching the infection clear up was amazing, but the journey was rough. Definitely talk to your doctor about managing side effects if you can.

Anyone else get the red man syndrome? That was the worst part for me.

I had to monitor my urine output closely when I was on this. The kidney warnings are no joke, so make sure you're communicating with your healthcare provider about any changes. It's worth the side effects, though; bacterial infections can be fatal if left untreated.

I feel sorry for the nurses who have to deal with infusion reactions. If you see any signs, tell them immediately. They're trained to handle these things.

I've been on Vancomycin for a MRSA infection. It's rough, but it's been effective so far. Make sure to stay hydrated and watch out for those side effects. I've had some stomach issues, but nothing too bad.

I had it prescribed for an infection post-surgery. It was effective, but the side effects were rough. I had the 'red man syndrome' where my skin flushed and itched during the infusion. My nurse was able to slow down the infusion rate and it helped a lot. Just be sure to tell your medical team about any issues you're having.

I wish more people talked openly about how serious these side effects are. I've had several friends who have dealt with MRSA and they all described the Vancomycin treatment as a nightmare. But the most important thing is to be aware and get help when you need it.

I had a severe allergic reaction to it. Swelling, trouble breathing, the works. Had to go straight to the ER. It was scary, but thankfully I'm fine now. Just be cautious and listen to your body.

I'm currently on Vancomycin and I'm terrified of the side effects. Is there anything I can do to mitigate them? I've heard some people take antihistamines alongside it. Any advice?
