I was recently prescribed Vascepa 0.5gm Capsules to help manage my high triglyceride levels. I've been taking statins for a while now, and my doctor decided to add this to my regimen to further reduce my risk of heart issues. I'm curious to hear from others who have taken this medication. What were your experiences like? Did you notice any significant changes in your triglyceride levels or overall heart health? Also, I'd love to know if anyone has dealt with any side effects and how they managed them. I've heard some people experience muscle pain and constipation, so I'm a bit worried about those. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Vascepa is a purified omega-3 fatty acid, specifically icosapent ethyl. It's not the same as fish oil. It's clinically proven to lower triglycerides and reduce the risk of heart disease, which is why it's prescribed. Fish oil is great, but it's not the same thing.

I was scared of the side effects, but I've had none so far. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

I switched to Vascepa from another omega-3 supplement. The difference in triglyceride levels is night and day. My cholesterol is great too, with just statin. Definitely the way to go, if you ask me. I'd recommend it right away.

Vascepa saved me. I had really high triglycerides and was at high risk for a heart attack. Statins alone didn't cut it. My doctor prescribed this, and it's been a game-changer. I've had some muscle pain, but it's manageable.

I don't get it. Shouldn't this just be fish oil? What's the point? Sounds expensive to me.

I've been on this for a bit now. Mine are only 1gm, but it has made a difference. I stopped getting chest pressure, though it took months. YMMV, but I'm glad I stuck with it.

I've been on Vascepa for about six months now, and I've noticed a significant drop in my triglyceride levels. Definitely worth it.

I started taking Vascepa 0.5gm Capsules about three months ago. My triglyceride levels were through the roof, and my doctor was concerned about my heart health. I've noticed a slight improvement, but I'm still waiting for my next check-up to see the full effects. As for side effects, I've had some constipation, but it's not too bad. I've just made sure to drink plenty of water and eat more fiber. I'm glad I'm taking it because the risk of a heart attack is a serious concern.

I had a severe allergic reaction to Vascepa. Swelling in the throat, trouble breathing, the works. Had to go to the ER. I was lucky to get help fast.

I've heard that Vascepa can interact with some other medications. Make sure to talk to your doctor about any other drugs you're taking. Better safe than sorry!
