I've been on Fondaparinux 5.0mg/.4ml Sl 0.4ml for the past few weeks to prevent blood clots, and while it's doing its job, I've been having trouble sleeping ever since. Has anyone else experienced this side effect? I've read that sleep disturbances are possible, but I'm wondering if there are any tips to manage it. Also, I've noticed some irritation at the injection site. Is this normal, and should I be concerned about it? I'm really hoping to hear from others who have gone through the same thing. Let me know if you have any strategies to deal with these issues.

Sleep disturbances are the worst! I've been dealing with it by taking short naps during the day. Of course, it's not ideal, but at least I'm not dragging myself around all day. I've also been trying to stay more active during the day, which seems to help a bit at night.

I have had a bit of redness, but I always wipe the area with a bit of rubbing alcohol after the injection and it helps. As for the sleep problems, try not to worry too much. If you're getting enough rest during the day, it shouldn't be a huge problem. Plus, the whole thing is only a short term deal, right? Get out of that mindset and just rest

I've had irritation at the injection site too, but it's not too bad. Change your needle every time you inject. I found that using a smaller needle helped a lot. The sleep disturbances are rough, though. I started taking some herbal sleep aids, like valerian root, and it's helped a bit. Give it a try if you're desperate

I've been on Fondaparinux for a while now, and yes, the sleep disturbances were miserable at first. Here's what helped me: Cutting out caffeine after 2 PM, establishing a strict bedtime routine, and using a white noise machine. Plus, my doctor recommended a melatonin supplement, which made a huge difference. As for the injection site irritation, it's common. Just make sure to rotate your injection sites and keep the area clean.

I had to switch to a different medication because of the side effects. Fondaparinux was too hard on my body. I couldn't deal with the constant worrying about bleeding and the fatigue. If you're struggling, talk to your doctor about alternatives.

As someone who's had blood clots before, I'll take the sleep issues any day. Just remember, this stuff is keeping you safe. If it's really bad, talk to your doctor. Don't suffer through it. I had to increase my dosage and it helped with the sleep

I had a terrible reaction to Fondaparinux. I ended up in the ER with some serious bruising, etc etc and they had to switch me to a different med. It sucks, but at least the alternatives are getting better. Keep us updated on your progress!

I've been on Fondaparinux for a while and I've had zero sleep issues. I think it really depends on the person. I've had to deal with some serious skin irritation, but I switched to using a different injection technique and it helped a lot. Everyone's different.
