Calcium Antacid 500mg Chw Tablets are a common over-the-counter remedy for neutralizing stomach acid, relieving heartburn, and even used as a calcium supplement. However, before you pop one, it's important to know what you're getting into. While generally safe, it can have some serious side effects and it can be dangerous to overuse. I've heard people talk about the importance of moderation and I've seen first hand how bad these can be if you don't follow the directions on the bottle. Looking at the list of side effects, it seems like the most common is constipation. Does anyone have any tips for how to deal with that if it happens? I'm also curious how this works for people with sensitive stomachs, as well as anyone with a dairy allergy. Finally, it would be great to hear from anyone that has had to seek medical attention due to these tablets.

Hey, these are a godsend for my morning sickness. I vomit all the time and they really help with the acid in my mouth. I'm glad I found this thread.

I get the side effects of calcium carbonate tablets pretty quick. But they are great for a quick fix

I've been using these for years and I've never had a problem, but you do have to be careful to not over do it. I spoke to my doctor and he told me it's important to avoid them if you're taking any other medications because it can interfere with the absorption of other drugs.

I took some of these when I was eating a lot of spicy foods and they helped a lot. However, it did lead to some pretty bad constipation, so be careful with that!

Do any of these tablets have any impact on your bones? I'm curious to know if they will help with osteoporosis or other bone diseases.

I'm on a low calcium diet and I'm trying to avoid any supplements. However, I do have heartburn and I'm getting frustrated. I may have to use these as a one off medication to help me out if I eat something bad.

I have a dairy allergy and was wondering if anyone else who has a dairy allergy should use this with calcium. I'm not sure if it will affect me the same way or not.
