I've been prescribed Augmentin 500-125mg Tablets for an infection, but the side effects list is worrying! Has anyone experienced severe reactions like allergic rashes or Stevens-Johnson syndrome? I had a terrible rash with Augmentin. It was terrifying, but I got to the ER just in time.
My friend had a bad reaction to Augmentin and ended up in the hospital with SJS. She was really sick, but she's okay now. It's important to be aware of the symptoms and get help if you need it. That's definitely something to be aware of.
I think it's interesting that kids get diaper rash from this. I had no idea that was a thing.
Drug-induced enterocolitis syndrome is rare but scary. Symptoms are consistent with other GI illnesses. The key is to be vigilant and call your doctor if you notice multiple symptoms. And trust me, you really don't want to risk it, so go to the ER.
I didn't experience anything serious, but I did have some stomach pain. It was pretty mild and went away after I finished the course. If you're concerned, it's probably best to talk to your doctor and get their advice. They can provide you with peace of mind.
Be careful with this one! I had a friend who ended up with C. diff. It's not fun and it can be really serious.
I'm pretty sure that allergic reactions are the most dangerous here. If you can't breathe, you need to go to the ER. No questions asked.
I took Augmentin and had mild diarrhea but nothing severe. I'd say listen to your body and if anything feels off, go to the doctor. Better safe than sorry.
It's scary to think about how much of our antibiotics are overprescribed. It’s a bit of a miracle that this isn't a bigger problem with stronger side-effects.
I've had bad diarrhea before with antibiotics. Kept me off work for a week. It's worth talking to your doctor about what to do. I was not happy about it, but it did clear up eventually.
