Evkeeza 345mg/2.3ml Inj Sol 2.3ml is a new drug approved for treating Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HoFH), a rare genetic condition causing extremely high cholesterol levels. Unlike other cholesterol medications, Evkeeza targets the ANGPTL3 protein, helping the body remove bad cholesterol and fats from the blood. Given its intravenous infusion once a month, I'm curious about the practicalities of this treatment. How do patients cope with the monthly infusions? What are the most common side effects experienced, and how do healthcare providers manage them? Are there any long-term studies available on the drug's effectiveness and potential risks?

Evkeeza is definitely a step forward, but it's important to weigh the benefits against the risks. Regular check-ups and open communication with your healthcare provider are crucial. Managing side effects promptly can make a big difference in the treatment experience. I've seen patients who have had great success with it, but it's not a one-size-fits-all solution. Each patient's response can vary.

I think this is great news, but why isn't it being prescribed more widely for other severe forms of hypercholesterolemia? It seems like it could help a lot of people if the availability was better.

I'm a bit worried about the long-term effects. Has anyone had experience with this over a longer period?

The flu-like symptoms were pretty rough at first, but they eased off after a couple of infusions. Just be prepared with some over-the-counter meds to help with that.

I've been on Evkeeza for a few months now, and the monthly infusions aren't too bad. The biggest thing is making sure you schedule them around your work or school schedule. The side effects have been manageable so far, just some mild dizziness which goes away quickly.

I've been reading about this, and it seems like the allergic reactions are the biggest concern. Have any of you experienced that or know anyone who has?
