Has anyone experienced significant side effects from Doxycycline Monohydrate 150mg? How did you manage?
I was prescribed Doxycycline Monohydrate 150mg for a severe acne outbreak. The antibiotic has been working well so far, but I'm concerned about the potential side effects. I've heard horrific stories about liver problems, C. diff-associated diarrhea, pancreatitis, and other severe reactions. While these sounds scary and rare, I'm wondering if anyone on here has had a similar experience and how they dealt with it. Just trying to be cautious and understand potential issues. Has anyone else had bad side effects from this medication, like diarrhea, and what was the experience like?

I had a really bad case of C. diff after taking this. The diarrhea was brutal, and I ended up in the hospital. It sucked, but I recovered. Make sure to take probiotics while on this, doc didn't tell me about them when I was prescribed
I took this for Lyme disease and the diarrhea was so bad I had to go to the hospital. I thought I was dying. To be fair, I did not take probiotics though, which may have helped.
I found that taking it with food helped a lot with the stomach issues. Also, make sure to finish the entire course, even if you feel better.
Doxycycline is super convenient for acne but be aware that it can make your skin really sensitive. If you get a rash or skin irritation, consult your doctor immediately. It might be a sign of an allergic reaction.
I've had to switch to something else a few times. This time, I did not have any issues except for mild nausea. Make sure you take it with a big glass of water.
I ended up going to the doctor for muscle pain. All over my body. Ached everywhere. But it went away after a few days.
I didn't know about the sun sensitivity! If you're out there sweating, make sure to cover up to avoid getting sunburn
