Has anyone here taken Prazosin 1mg Capsules for PTSD-related nightmares? How was your experience?
I was recently prescribed Prazosin 1mg Capsules to help with nightmares related to my PTSD. I've heard it can help, but I'm also a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else tried this medication for the same reason? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. Side effects worry me, especially the more severe ones. I’ve read that it can cause allergic reactions, and even more seriously, an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours. I'm not too keen on either, but my doc says the benefits might outweigh these risks. What do you guys think?

Just a heads up, make sure you talk to your doctor about all the medications you're on. Prazosin can interact with other drugs, and you don't want to mess around with that stuff.
I've been on it for a while and haven't had any major side effects. It's helped a lot with my nightmares. Sometimes I forget to take it, and then I have bad nights.
I had a bad reaction to it. I got a really bad headache and I felt so weak. I stopped taking it after a few days because I couldn't stand the side effects. Never had a problem with any other BP meds.
I've been taking it for a few weeks now, and it's been great. I haven't had any nightmares, and the side effects have been minimal. I've just felt a little drowsy, but it's manageable.
I took Prazosin for a while, but the dizziness and weakness were too much for me. I had to stop taking it. But, honestly, it did help with the nightmares when I was on it. It's worth a try, your mileage may vary, though.
I took Prazosin for my BP, but it didn't work out for me. I had some really bad headaches and just couldn't deal with them. I switched to something else, but it did help me with the occasional nightmare.
I had a friend who took Prazosin and had a really bad allergic reaction. He ended up in the ER with hives all over and couldn't breathe properly. It was scary. You should definitely be cautious and have someone around when you take it for the first time.
