I was prescribed G Tussin AC 100-10/5 Liquid for a persistent cough and I've been using it for a couple of weeks now. It's been helping, but I'm starting to worry about the codeine in it. I've read that it can be addictive, and I don't want to get hooked on it. Has anyone else had experience with this? How do I know if I'm becoming dependent? I'm going to talk to my doctor, but I'd like to hear from others who have been in a similar situation. How long did you take it? Did you switch to something else afterward? How did you stop and what steps did you take?

Codeine can be habit-forming, so it's important to use it exactly as prescribed. If you feel like you're becoming dependent, talk to your doctor right away. You might want to look into other options too. If you have concerns over dependency or addiction consider other remedies for your cough.

I've used it a few times but I don't think it's safe to take it for a long period. We all have our own tolerance and it's different for everyone. Everyone's body reacts differently, and it's important to listen to your doctor.

I was on this for a few weeks and I didn't have any issues. I just made sure to take it exactly as prescribed.

I've been taking it for months and I haven't had any issues. Obviously, you need to tell your doctor if you are addicted. If you are taking more than prescribed, that's a sign you need to talk to someone about your addiction.

I've been on it for a while and I didn't have any issues. I just made sure to use it as needed and gradually reduced the amount. If you've got a problem with substance abuse seek out your GP or local support groups.

I asked my doctor about the risk. That's what concerns me is the risk of addiction. Codeine is a controlled substance, so if you have a problem with substance abuse stay away from it.

Codeine can be addictive, but if used properly, it shouldn't be an issue. It's important to talk to your doctor and listen to what they say about your specific situation

My doctor switched me to something else after a week or two. I think it depends on the severity of your cough and how you react to the medication. It's all about how you and your body react to the medication. If you are using it more than prescribed, that's a sign you need to talk to someone.

I've had problems when trying to stop taking it. That's what concerns me is the risk of addiction.
