I had Dotarem for my MRI last year and didn't experience any major side effects. Just a bit of warmth at the injection site, but it was nothing serious.

Dotarem is a type of gadolinium-based contrast agent (GBCA), which is commonly used in MRIs. These agents help improve the visibility of certain tissues and blood vessels. However, there are different types of GBCAs, and some have been linked to a rare condition called nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF). My MRI tech said Dotarem has a pretty good track record there.
